Electric transport and ion binding in solutions of fullerenehexamalonic acid [T.sub.h]-[C.sub.66][(COOH).sub.12] and its alkali and calcium salts
Article Abstract:
The indirect moving boundary method is used for determining the transport number of the macroion constituent in aqueous solutions of fullerenehexamalonic acid ([C.sub.66][(COOH).sub.12]) and its lithium, sodium, cesium and calcium salts. The fraction of counterions bound to the macroion is obtained and the degrees of immobilization obtained from transport experiments are shown to be lower than those derived from equilibrium properties.

Article Abstract:
A new vesicle phase system is constructed with tetradecyldimethylamine oxide ([C.sub.14]DMAO) and increasing amounts of [(C[H.sub.3][(C[H.sub.2]).sub.13]NHCOC[H.sub.2]OS[O.sub.3]).sub.2]Ca in aqueous solution. Vesicles are constructed through [Ca.sup.2+]-bridge complexation between an amine oxide surfactant and a sulfate surfactant and calcium oxalate monohydrates are produced through the vesicular phase as microreactors.
